Mid-August update: dropping a newsletter

In an effort to continue to find ways to reach audiences in an often convoluted social media stratosphere, I am going to experiment with sending out a monthly newsletter via email.

Over the past few months, I have sporadically been writing a newsletter on my blog website. That newsletter usually involved what I'm currently watching, listening to, and reading.

The newsletter I'm thinking of doing will partially contain those above mentioned things with a sprinkle of the monthly update I do on my website. If you haven't seen it, you can take a look or just know the monthly update focuses on what is going on in my writing world.

The main idea of the newsletter will be similar to what the website provides. Updates on my writing, upcoming projects and releases, and general goings on will be included. This will be a way to hopefully connect with more people (and stay in touch with others.)

Part of the reason of doing this is because I know how easy it can be for social media timelines to get clogged with information. In the future--instead of sharing a blog post every week--links to those will be included in a monthly newsletter. (In an effort to keep honing the ol' skills, I will maintain an effort to blog every week.)

Now, this is to say I won't be sharing these blog posts or website updates outside of the newsletter. But it is entirely possible you will see more of me on Twitter than Facebook. I will continue to share my sports contributions for Chowder and Champions and Bronco Nation News on social media but everything else (of my stuff) you may see less of.

If you'd like to subscribe to my newsletter, feel free to email me at jrhask14@gmail.com Say hi, say good-bye or simply type SUBSCRIBE in the subject line.

Do so and in the first newsletter you will receive the first chapter of The Dragon Princess and also the first draft, first chapter of the yet-to-be-published The Blue Gem. (And once the newsletter starts being sent out, feel free to unsubscribe at any time. The option will be available.)

The first one, of course, will be a trial newsletter. It may take once or twice (or ten times) to get it to a place I like, but that's a writer for you. Like I said, in an effort to keep up with an ever changing social media landscape, I'm here to try something new.

Thanks for stopping by.

Be bold. Be kind.
